Just when we thought Zack was resting on his artisitic morals…………….. BAM! He comes out with a typical neo-lib staple. Burning the American Flag! Now lets here from the progressives how flag burning is simply an expression of free speech. It is. Yet I don’t think its cool. Just sayin.

Really I feel the whole role of Flag Burning is to rile the right. You those that are patriotic. Has nothing to do with free speech nor expression.

  1. I like that, ‘resting on his artistic morals.’ Plus– note that it’s a twofer, with the Israeli AND US flag getting the torch. Something for everybody– if you’re in either the far-left or the Islamofascist camp, that is.

Haha, good one Zack, implying that Islamofascists and far-lefties are different groups. Funny.

  2. Not sure I get ya, cobainfan. Anyone out there want to explain to me what he’s going for here?

Memories of the Ann Arbor culture~
…and for you who think burning the American flag is a benign exercise of the 1st Amendment, this coming April 20th is -YOUR- big day on the U of M campus ‘Diag’… many like-minded folks gather for just one reason… & Sierra will be there, too !

Why not stick it back to them by burning a copy of the Origin of Species, or whatever it is they like?

It is legal to burn the American Flag. As per the supreme court as an expression protected by the first Amendment. However, some cities (NOT BERKLEY, EVER) have issued citations for burning without a fire permit…
Again I don’t condone such activity. Its just not cool with so many people have died keeping that right. Yeah, men and women have died defending the flag and what it represents so wacked out anti-American, cititizens can burn it.

Yeah its F$%- -d up but…. I guess thats the price we pay for our freedoms.

Zack, I think the honest truth is that cobainfan69 really enjoys your work. Seems to me Cobainfan69 is a vocal fan and critic.

By the way, I like the little touches like the writing on her purse. I mean, who would seriously buy a “hope and change” purse but a nutty liberal Obama supporter?

Ryan — the truth is, our ‘lib list’; Cobainfan, Marbles, Wootabega, Manny,… and a few other orbiting liberals really do like Zack’s work.
They sometimes fuss & moan over the conservative theme… they resent the persistent exposition of leftist idiocy… and sometimes they snipe at Zack’s art work, yet they hang around for more & more.
It has been fun to watch this for 18+ months… I hope you hang around for a while… you will get some fun laughs~

  3. As ikabod said, it IS legal for americans to burn a flag. In fact, americans burn more flags then any other country! Since, as listed in the US flag code, it is the recommended method of _respectful_ disposal for a united states flag once it is in poor condition.

Well put Steve. I have enjoyed all of the comedy both comic and comment.

  4. Ah, the old flag burning chestnut.

As usual, Diversity Lane continues to aim potshots at phantoms that barely exist in real life.

    Marbles… interesting perspective~

In your peculiar views, those who burn the American & Israeli flags betray nothing more than an alternative expression… that you & your sub-culture never have the intellectual backbone to examine in-depth.

Let us shed some light on a few well-known facts that exist contrary to “…phantoms that barely exist in real life.”

The US Nuclear Navy is the most advanced and capable in the world – we have a dozen Nimitz class carriers that no other country can, or ever has, come close to matching in terms of force projection or operational ability. Yet the countless billions have been spent for these contrary to your wisdom of; “…phantoms that barely exist in real life.”

Further, between the most advanced and capable Air Force, Special Operations Command, and Army & Marine ground forces, the US has had for generations the most powerful & advanced military, that has been systematically built up despite your higher wisdom of, “…phantoms that barely exist in real life.”

Between you, cobainfan, and other such ‘enlightened’ progressives, we never hear any dimension to your lives or background, none of you folks ever mention anything about your lives that offers some experiential credibility behind your opinions.

After so many of your provocative assertions, some wonder what you do for a living,… are you beyond your post-pubescent teen years(?) & still living under ‘mommy & daddies roof'(?)… perhaps you are on some public university staff or faculty(?)… are you a State or Federal government employee(?)… so many questions —

…then, in the absence of any understanding about what drives your opinions… there is that last question,… how much bong water do you guzzle down each week ???

  5. By jove, Holmes, you’ve done it again! Surely the police would never have been able to draw such thorough conclusions about the culprit’s worldview and lifestyle from a single sentence! I don’t know how you do it, old fellow. XD XD XD

But in all seriousness, my dear chap, a word of advice. You’d appear slightly less foolish if you didn’t completely *misinterpret* that single sentence and wander off into all sorts of directions far away from the matter at hand.

Well, carry on, then! We mustn’t be late for tea!

You got it partly right Steve. Cobain, and I think Marbles as well, have mentioned before that we DO like Zack’s art. What we dislike is the rabid fanbase who attack everything that disagrees with their worldview, and Zack “wasting” (to us at least) his talents by writing hack political cartoons, rather than putting them towards an endeavor that could be more lucrative. Capitalism, yknow?

Is it me or does Steve have a habit of implying people that disagree with him are literally children? I think there might be some childhood issues here.

  6. Like graphic novels f’rinstance. Those beautiful, moody, suburban vistas could be put to fantastic cinematic effect in someone’s dramatic story.
