  1. The Bible encompasses both the best and the worst of human nature.

Hey, I think the first quote should be, “…if you have recovered FROM your skepticism”. Otherwise it doesn’t really make sense.

Marbles: Exactly so; the worst is described and defined as sin, and the best is explicitly demonstrated; “No greater love has a man than to give his life for his friends.”

If you read 3 or 4 chapters a day, you can read the entire Bible in 1 year.

Too many fonts. Why no graphics of Lincoln, instead of a strange mop? I hope you start doing more actual comics soon.

  2. The worst is found not only in the descriptions of sin but in the brutal, skewed morals of some of those who penned the words, who as creatures of their time and place could only explain the world as they understood it to be. It’s quite a book that recommends stoning adulterers and murdering those who work on the Sabbath, but also contains the whole “He who is without sin…” business. It is not a coherent work born of a unified vision or worldview, but rather a collection of writings that encompasses the best impulses humanity has, and also the darkest.

Ya know what else Nick?… the Bible, Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution… ALL have lots of words & no pictures, “too many fonts.”,… does that help explain why, in part, they are considered so ‘yesterday’, to many ?

Are you comparing this picture to a religious text, and documents that outline the foundation of an entire nation, Steve? lol.

Cobainfan: -No-…no such comparison was made or implied…

The point made is, there exists a very well known tendency, recognized from ages ago, for some people, and also found among very young children learning to read, they like to see a large proportion of pictures and graphics, to text – otherwise, their eyes glaze over, and they tend to read or comprehend very little.
    Ok ?

BTW – that “…religious text” you refer to, is THE key foundational document to the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.
Just a boring ‘tid-bit’ not found in all the government/ teachers union (public) provided education.

So I guess the reason liberals and progressives and all those folks just HATE the Constitution and the Bible because there aren’t enough pretty pictures? A fair theory.

Nah its the hassle factor…. Too many rules…. These documents are sooooooo old, its not like they really “mean” anything.

It’s not that I don’t like reading, it’s just that:

One, I look forward to the comics, so when I see a jpeg that consists of type, I’m disappointed.

Two, since Zack’s an artist, I just expected him to put a little more time into designing the words. Too many typefaces often times just doesn’t look very attractive.

Eh, whatever, looks like he just posted a new comic, anyway.

    Hey Nick-
As you are new to the Diversity Lane world, if you want to see an easy overview of Zacks cartoons,… are you on Facebook?
If so, go to the Diversity Lane FB site – there, you will see one of the ‘friends’ of DL is Rafe Covington (has a cowboy hat for a thumb pic).

Rafe is the DL moderator -and- he has at his FB page which has photo albums covering 2008 to 2011 works of Zack.
I have been through these albums – they are fast & easy to scroll through and ‘to boot’, each cartoon has a link to its DL blog site location.

cobainfan69- Liberals aren’t the ones who want to change the Constitution every time it disagrees with them.
