Not that the Flag is on the ground… Nope its the Flag! The Flag itself is the problem! I wonder if mom would have been more approving if the flag was on fire….

  1. Who let him have US Soldiers in the first place? Doesn’t that promote American Exceptionalism?

    Never fear the flag
but some hate what it stands for
    is freedom that bad?

  2. Ikabod: Yeah– around here there’s really little use for a flag unless you’re setting it on fire. (Great call on your part.)

Vegas: Exactly right– there should never be toy soldiers in this house; but as I told an emailer, I couldn’t think of any better way to situate a little flag in the living room. Thanks for the haiku, this one really hits home with that last line.

  3. WOW, you’ve been busy and I haven’t come every day like I’d like to..what great cartoons!
The flag..ah, yes..and the Christian white couple…CALL THE COPS! Great, great stuff! thanks! xx

As someone afflicted with “Patriautism” … we are not surprised that Allison would become rattled by the sight of the American flag … combined with Jayson’s “abhorrent” choice to play “war” …

I wish you well 🙂 Melek

  4. Z: Great to have you stop in anytime you’re available, but no problem either way, I know how swamped you are turning out those massive reams of great material at your own blog. Thanks!

Melek: Yes, Allison has freaked, not by seeing our flag on the ground (as an earlier commentor sagely pointed out) but simply by seeing our flag, period! And rest assured, those toy soldiers will be gotten rid of by afternoon’s end. The only decision is whether to trash or recycle.

The entire family may be in for some “re-education”. Something is obviously deficent in the the Jayson’s upbringing.

  5. DonBiase: I know. It’s such a drag– just when you think you’re running the perfect Socialist household you find out your kid enjoys war toys.
