There’s no better name for a blog or website than that, so I won’t even try to top it with a clever post title.  I Own The World is a humor site for those who liked Airplane! and prefer their jazz real rather than “smooth.”  When you tire of the ersatz-edginess of people like Letterman– whose worldview afterall fits neatly into the Katie Couric/Oprah Winfrey intellectual continuum– try this stuff.  Nary a PC post to be found… breathe the air of Freedom!

That’s not very productive, Andreas. Your comment sounds like something David would say. “Ersatz” suggests that Letterman is not truly “edgy”.

That being said, iOwntheWorld is not really edgy either. Poorly done photoshops and ham-fisted comics aren’t aren’t exactly provocative. “Reactionary” is a more fitting description.

  1. Jake: Sorry, had to delete the filthy hate-spew Andreas was handing out, to which your comment refers. I love having left-leaning folks stop by, just don’t care for obscene language or sputtering temper tantrums. I like that you articulately dismiss IOwnTheWorld rather than grow feverishly incensed by it; have the feeling that you, unlike some who comment here, “get” the fact that it’s just as logical that conservatives would seek to satirize liberals as vice versa. Anyway, you may not find the site provocative but it was certainly provocative enough to provoke Andreas to blow a gasket!

Yeah, some people take online discussions too seriously. I really don’t think it is worth getting so worked up over a website.

  2. Hi, Zack, great job again….

As much as iOwnTheWorld wants to be Sun Ra, it’s definitely far more Kenny G, but without the slick production values.

I think it is more in line with the worst of 4chan.
