[Memo from the Lanes]

Do you have a spare corner at your blog or website for this delightful child?  If so we hope you’ll consider allowing her to romp there.  She doesn’t eat much, watches lots of TV and hardly requires a thing.  Are temporarily unable to pay for your service but expecting any day now for the Government to begin subsidizing.  Warning: do not show her an American flag or she is liable to get all “patriotic” on you.  We believe this to be a passing phase– in most other ways she is normal.diversitylane_babysit_for-blog1

  1. No problem Zack, I’ve found a place for her on my website with a link back to Diversity Lane so everyone could support her further. This is really getting more interesting and intriguing as it goes. Great Job! Thank You!

  2. You certainly have found her a place Jose, and you were one of the first to take her in (many thanks for that). Had a great visit to Cubanology today by the way… the column on Arlen Specter’s cozying up to Castro was the most shocking thing I read all morning. Hope folks visit your spot and aquaint themselves with that column (c/o American Thinker). We may think we know how awful this Specter is but most of us don’t know the half of it.

Why are there little B-2 bombers on the corners of her picture?

  3. Norman: You’ve been watching The Military Channel too long and not delving enough into scrapbooks and photo albums.

  4. Babysit, I would adopt this kid.

Zack, if you’re interested in having Diversity Lane syndicated by other bloggers, you should publish new cartoons to a constant file name, like today.jpg.

  5. Anytime, Chuck. Both Diversity and I have checked out your blog and found it extra smart and solid in every way. Feel free to “adopt away” anytime a cartoon suits your fancy.

Kylos: Thanks for the tip! Mind if I drop you a brief line for further explanation sometime? I’m a tech imbecile as most readers have gradually come to realize.

Zack, sure. I’m not familiar with wordpress’s image management, but you can use a flickr account and upload your comics to that. On flickr, you have the option of replacing an existing photo with a new one. This allows the url to remain the same even when you change the picture so that anyone can inline that url and get the latest image. If you do this, you’ll want to make sure that you upload the comics separately to your blog, otherwise, if you use the flickr url on your blog, the comic in each post will be the most current one.

If you have any other questions, email me.

  6. Much obliged, kylos, for this extremely kind tip and expanded detail from you. After I reread it three or four times I will hopefully understand– and just in case not, thanks too for the offer to elucidate EVEN MORE! (It’s almost like learning a foreign language to us non-tech oafs.)

  7. As another non-tech oaf, what do I need to do to put your series on my blog?

  8. Circa Bellum: Please refer that question to previous commentator, kylos.

(Just kidding. I’ll have my tech genius webmaster drop you a line– hopefully he can assist you in the next day or two. Thanks much for your interest.)
