Another good one for the masses Zack! I don’t think the left would get this. I’m sure they don’t see the idol worship. Like I have said before I’ll say again. We have a president that will get very little critical reporting from the media.

  1. Jones Town Guyana
    They believed their leader too!
    Kool-Aid Anyone?

  2. Outstanding and so realistic, I love it! How much you convey with every drawing. I will be placing the image with the popcorn and the Che picture in the corner of the room on my homepage. Of course, I will send everyone your way and even write a post on the website blog concerning your revealing art, great job! Email me if you can, thank you!

  3. Thanks Ikabod. You’re right, the Left and most liberals won’t fathom this cartoon. Them, brainwashed? Surely you jest: why, they’re the most open-minded people around, aren’t they??

Vegas, that’s another hot Haiku from you, thanks for classing up my blog. Love the final tagline.

Jose, thanks for the encouragement and for posting my drawings at your excellent site,
Hope all of my readers check out this great exploration of Cuban and Cuban-American culture & politics with some of the finest anti-communist writing around, as would be expected.

  4. Great work, Zack. I especially love the magazine rack — the fridge magnet display in the back! Great details!

Thank you. I guess open minds are easy to fill.

  5. Thanks Wes– wasn’t hard to come up with that magazine rack, as you can imagine; it’s straight out of reality, pretty much unadulterated. The fridge magnets should be available at a gift shop near you. ANY gift shop near you.

AngryDumbo, that was a good one. And the Obama Hope ‘n’ Change pablum seems to go down especially easy into those gaping, open minds.

  6. Ha!.. We’re looking more like N. Korea. Anyone else getting sick of all the Sasha, Malia, Michelle adoration. The kids are cute, but enough already!

  7. Incog: Just as Catholics bestow upon Mary a sacred and holy status, Michelle– as wife of The Annointed One– is a vital proto-religious symbol for the Left, with Sasha and Malia floating just behind on clouds of stardust and glory.

  8. Them, brainwashed? Surely you jest: why, they’re the most open-minded people around, aren’t they??

Here’s an irony for ya: In some Christian belief, leaving one’s mind wiiiiiiiide open (spiritually) is an invitation to be influenced and/or possessed by demonic spirits. If you have trouble grasping this concept, leave your house door open tonight.

  9. Superb observation, Scott. Whether emblematic of Satanic influence or mental derangement, Leftist naivete is most definitely an incalculable menace to the West today, just as it has ever been to societies the world over.

  10. Glad you like it. I guess I should do a ballad or a heroic couplet, but I don’t have the time to come up with longer works right now.

  11. Vegas: You’re already “living” a heroic couplet– you’re teaching 8th graders.

  12. 7th and 8th actually….

A glutton for punishment by I
When I teach them they sigh

    Short stories are to long
They can’t wait for the period to be gone

    If they would try
    and not whine and cry

They would be shocked at the money they’d earn…

Great posts! I really enjoy your work. Keep it up.

I recently started a new blog that will be highlighting the dangerous advances of the secular progressive movement (pro-gay “rights”, pro-abortion, anti-religious freedoms, etc).

We’re looking to build a solid group of conservatives who’ll frequent our site regularly and contribute to some good discussions. The site gets updated daily with breaking news, so you’ll want to check back often. Our blog is

  13. Thanks cschande. An initial survey of your blog struck me as altogether admirable and on-track. Also well-organized; a nice broad survey of current leftist cultural abominations. My readers should definitely approve.

Vegas, you’re on to the advanced poetics now, I see. Love the surprise sharp turn into practical, financial matters in the final line.

  14. A short heroic couplet actually. Glad you liked it…

I can’t see that character admitting that the Soviet Union was a propaganda-saturated, thought-controlled environment. I think it would have worked better if she had said: “Great documentary on Joseph Goebbels and the Nazis’ propaganda machine last night. Can you even imagine living in a society where all your ideas are dictated by some kind of all-pervasive opinion-making machine?”

  15. Thanks RNB. It’s a valid critique, and I had considered something along those lines initially; then backed off it, wishing to avoid being glibly accused of an American Left/Nazi comparison. True enough, there are vast proportions of the Left that have not yet admitted the incalculable evil of the Soviet Union; whereas the more enlightened of them have, many decades too late, finally seen the light. I’m positing Devon to be more of this latter, “enlightened” class of Leftists.

Z: Thanks for the insight into the character.
